Meet Our Pastor - David A. Adams
Pastor David A. Adams is a man called after God’s own heart. He was baptized at an early age at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Beachton, Georgia. He has served in several offices within the church: Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, Usher, and Sunday School Teacher.
In the year 2000, he was called into the ministry by the Lord Jesus Christ. In February 2003, God called Pastor Adams to be the local shepherd of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, at 505 East Force Street, in Valdosta where the church’s theme is Recommitting, Reuniting, and Rebuilding Through Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 6:12
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
(King James Version)
II Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
(King James Version)
Under Pastor Adams’ leadership and God’s guidance, Mt. Calvary has been blessed to move from two Sundays to four Sundays of Worship, as well as much spiritual and physical growth. He is a man of faith who not only teaches the word, but lives by the Word of God. He is a man of prayer who believes that if you lack wisdom, ask God and He will give it unto you freely and abundantly.
Pastor Adams is married to the lovely Michelle Adams from Valdosta, and they have two beautiful daughters. His formal education was in the Grady County School System and Valdosta State where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Science Education. Pastor Adams is currently retired from teaching at Valdosta High School in Valdosta, GA. He has coached several sports at different schools over the years and has taught Science for 30 years.
Pastor Adams desired to enhance his wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God's Word by furthering his Christian education at institutions of higher learning. In understanding that this is a lifelong process, he began his seminary studies at Genesis Bible College, J & E Bible College and completed his Doctorate Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
